Make this incredibly smooth and tangy whipped feta dip in minutes. It is the perfect crowd-pleasing appetizer for any gathering, topped with sweet honey and crunchy pistachios.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block feta cheese, drained
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey, for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup shelled pistachios, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill or chives, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the drained feta cheese, softened cream cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and black pepper into a food processor.
  2. Process the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth and airy. Stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure everything is incorporated. This usually takes 2 to 4 minutes for the creamiest texture.
  3. Taste the dip and add a tiny pinch of salt only if necessary, as feta is naturally salty.
  4. Transfer the whipped feta dip to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well in the center.
  5. Drizzle the 2 tablespoons of honey evenly over the top of the dip.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios and fresh herbs (if using) over the honey and around the edges.
  7. Drizzle a small amount of extra olive oil over the top just before serving.
  8. Serve immediately with pita bread, pita chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For the smoothest texture, use a block of feta packed in brine, not pre-crumbled feta.
  • You can prepare this dip up to one day ahead. Store it covered in the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving. Add the honey and toppings just before serving.
  • If you prefer a spicy kick, substitute the regular honey with hot honey for the drizzle.
  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a high-powered blender, but you may need to add an extra teaspoon of olive oil to help it blend.
