Crispy roasted Brussels sprouts with savory bacon, finished with a sweet and tangy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper on a large baking sheet. Spread them in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  3. Roast for 15 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped bacon to the baking sheet with the Brussels sprouts.
  5. Continue roasting for another 10-15 minutes, or until the sprouts are tender and crispy, and the bacon is cooked through.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic glaze and maple syrup.
  7. Drizzle the glaze over the roasted Brussels sprouts and bacon. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy sprouts, ensure they have plenty of space on the baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding.
  • You can add the bacon during the last 10 minutes of roasting if you prefer it less crispy.
  • Consider this a great side dish if you are looking for meal planning ideas.
