This recipe delivers a remarkably juicy and tender pork tenderloin using a simple oven baking method. The sweet and savory honey garlic glaze makes this an impressive main dish perfect for weeknights or company.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb pork tenderloin, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the pork tenderloin dry with paper towels. This helps create a better sear and crust.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to create the spice rub. Rub this mixture evenly over the entire surface of the pork tenderloin.
  4. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop. Sear the pork tenderloin for 2 minutes on each side until nicely browned.
  5. While the pork sears, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic in a small bowl to make the glaze.
  6. Brush half of the honey garlic glaze over the seared pork tenderloin in the skillet.
  7. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 145°F (63°C). Cooking time depends on the thickness of your tenderloin.
  8. Remove the pork from the oven. Brush the remaining glaze over the top. Tent the pork loosely with foil and let it rest on a cutting board for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Resting keeps the meat juicy.
  9. Slice the pork tenderloin into 1/2-inch thick medallions and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an even quicker meal, you can skip the stovetop searing step and simply brush the entire glaze onto the raw pork before baking.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can simmer the leftover glaze in a small saucepan over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until it reduces slightly.
  • This recipe works well with a dry rub of your choice if you want to skip the honey garlic flavor for a different profile, such as Cajun seasoning.
