A simple and fun recipe for pigs in a blanket, perfect as an appetizer or kid-friendly snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated seamless dough sheet
  • 16 small hot dogs or cocktail sausages
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the seamless dough sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into 16 equal strips.
  3. Take one hot dog or sausage and wrap a strip of dough around it, pressing the ends to seal. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  4. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush the tops of the dough with the beaten egg wash. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup or mustard.

Notes

  • You can use crescent roll dough if seamless dough sheets are unavailable. Just separate the crescent roll dough into triangles and cut each triangle lengthwise into thinner strips before wrapping.
  • For a richer flavor, you can brush the dough with melted butter instead of egg wash.
  • These are best served fresh from the oven.
