A classic ham and pineapple pizza recipe that balances sweet and savory flavors for a delightful homemade tropical pizza.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness and shape.
  3. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal or parchment paper.
  4. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Distribute the diced ham and pineapple chunks evenly over the cheese.
  7. Add the sliced red onion, if using.
  8. Drizzle the olive oil over the toppings and sprinkle with dried oregano.
  9. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the parchment paper directly on the oven rack.
  10. Bake for 12-18 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  11. Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, bake directly on the oven rack or a preheated pizza stone.
  • Ensure pineapple is well-drained to prevent a soggy pizza.
  • Adjust the amount of ham and pineapple to your preference.
  • Consider adding a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
