Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 avocado, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Do not overcook.
  3. While shrimp cooks, prepare the slaw by combining shredded cabbage, cilantro, and 1/4 cup lime juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Prepare the crema by mixing mashed avocado, mayonnaise, sour cream, 1 tablespoon lime juice, and salt in a small bowl until smooth.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas according to package directions.
  6. Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with cooked shrimp, slaw, and a drizzle of avocado crema.

Notes

  • For a spicier taco, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the shrimp seasoning.
  • You can grill the shrimp instead of sautéing for a smoky flavor.
  • Serve with your favorite taco toppings like diced tomatoes, onions, or jalapeños.
  • Consider this a great alternative to some meal delivery services for a fresh, home-cooked meal.
