- 1 cup warm milk (105-115°F)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in the melted butter, beaten eggs, and salt.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12-16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Place the dough balls into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan, leaving some space between them.
- Cover the pan and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until puffy.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter immediately after removing from the oven.
Notes
- For extra soft rolls, you can cover them with a clean kitchen towel while they cool.
- These rolls freeze well. Let them cool completely, then store in an airtight container or freezer bag.
