A simple and delicious classic creamy coleslaw recipe, perfect as a side dish for barbecues, picnics, or any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 head of green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 medium carrot, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture.
  4. Toss well to coat everything evenly.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For a tangier dressing, add an extra tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.
  • You can add a pinch of celery seed for extra flavor.
  • This coleslaw is best served cold.
