Make the classic, addictive Chex Party Mix at home. This easy, oven-baked recipe uses simple seasonings to create the best savory snack mix for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups Chex cereal (a mix of Rice Chex and Corn Chex works best)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists
  • 1 cup bagel chips
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (such as pecans or almonds)
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a very large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, bagel chips, and nuts. Set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, and paprika until well combined.
  4. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal mixture. Gently stir until all the cereal and additions are lightly coated with the seasoning.
  5. Spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheets in a single layer. Do not overlap pieces too much.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and gently stir the mix. Return to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the mix cool completely on the baking sheets. The mix will become crunchy as it cools.
  8. Store the finished Chex Party Mix in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the butter with unsalted butter.
  • You can substitute any of the cereal or snack components with what you have on hand, like Cheerios or rye chips.
  • If you prefer a Ranch Chex Mix Variation, omit the paprika and seasoned salt, and stir in 1 packet of dry Ranch seasoning mix with the melted butter mixture.
