Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
  4. While the bread is toasting, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, and olive oil in a medium bowl.
  5. Season the tomato mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.
  6. Once the baguette slices are toasted, rub one side of each slice with a peeled garlic clove.
  7. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto the garlic-rubbed side of each toasted baguette slice.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use the freshest, ripest tomatoes you can find for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic to your preference.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a splash of balsamic glaze before serving.
