Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz each)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup all-purpose flour (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions
Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels. This helps the coating stick and promotes crispiness.
In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Lightly brush both sides of each chicken breast with olive oil.
In a shallow dish, combine the grated Parmesan cheese with the flour, if using.
Dredge each oiled chicken breast completely in the Parmesan mixture, pressing gently so the cheese adheres well to both sides.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
Place the coated chicken breasts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time. The exact time depends on the thickness of your breasts.
Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; the chicken is done when it reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra crispy results, you can lightly spray the coated chicken with cooking spray before placing it in the air fryer.
If you skip the flour, the Parmesan crust may adhere slightly less, but the chicken will still be delicious and lower in carbs.
This recipe works well for meal prep; store cooled chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
